No stock photos here... *The pick shown is the actual pick you will receive, both sides are shown.* Made of Santos Mahogany, a very beautiful, dense & durable exotic hardwood. This handcrafted premium guitar pick was shaped & sanded independently, it features a concave thumb groove on each side to ensure a firm grip, & to also give the pick an incredible feel of control. This pick measures approx. 1-5/16” or 33 mm long X 1-1/8" or 28 mm wide, it is about 3 mm thick at the thickest part of the pick, but it feels & plays thinner due to the thumb grooves on each side, the pick tapers down to a thickness of about 1 mm at the tip. Designed with the guitarist in mind for comfort & play-ability, this pick is treated with a special oil blend, for lasting protection I let the pick soak in the oil to ensure that the pick is deeply penetrated, I then seal the pick with a natural bees wax paste & lightly buff the pick for a smooth & silky finish, while the rough sanded thumb grooves keep their grip for comfort & control, & if you perspire or moisten your fingertips, it will actually improve your grip. It may take a while to get used to playing with a wooden pick, but every guitar player that I know, simply can't live without their hardwood guitar picks, they also make excellent gifts! SANTOS MAHOGANY - Myroxylon Balsamum
The tree is native to South America & grows in Southern Mexico through Central America to Argentina.
Rich & reddish brown in color, a gorgeous exotic hardwood that is exceptionally fine grained, very hard & extremely stable.
